Production technics
Carbide blocks are mainly made from wolfram carbide and cobalt powder using powder metallurgy methods. The main production processes of sintered tungsten carbide blocks are powder milling, ball milling, pressing, and sintering. The content of WC and Co in carbide EDM blanks is not the same for different uses.
Application
Tungsten carbide block is mainly used to fabricate progressive dies stamping metal sheets. It is also an excellent material for making wear-resistant parts, cutters, and gauge blocks.
Main Process flow
Powder milling→ formula according to application requirements → wet milling → mixing → crushing → drying → sieving → adding forming agent → redrying → sieving to obtain cemented carbide powder→ granulating → cold isostatic pressing → forming → low-pressure sintering →blanks→stress released→flaw inspection→packing→warehousing
