Tungsten carbide sealing rings are used as mechanical seal faces in rotating fluid machinery such as pumps, compressors, and agitators.

Since the fluid machinery’s transmission shaft runs through the equipment’s inside and outside, there is a circumferential gap between the shaft and the equipment. To prevent the leakage of the working substance, a shaft seal device needs to be installed between the rotating shaft and the housing, mechanical seal is a universal shaft seal device. Tungsten carbide is a quality material as mechanical seal rings due to its high hardness, high strength, and corrosion resistance.

Tungsten carbide stationary seal ring and rotating seal ring make up a set of friction pairs, the end face of the friction pair prevents medium leakage. Carbide seal rings are generally made with Cobalt as binder material, nickel binder seal ring is more corrosion resistant.
